Artwork Policy and Your Agreement with our Policy

First, we would like to apologize for the time you have to spend reading our Artwork Policy. This agreement was written for those few customers that do not understand that “We are not Mind Readers”. The Artwork Policy is also for those customers that want to pay for an hour’s worth of work, but expect to get 1 extra hour for free.

Our new “On Line Form”, was designed to help our customers provide us with the information needed to create their coat of arms in an efficient manner.  This offers the least possibility of misunderstanding the customer’s thoughts.  Communication is a key factor to customer satisfaction.

This Artwork Policy was also created to help our customers understand the process of creating a coat of arms. Although this information is listed in several places on our website, some customers choose not to read this information before ordering. This ultimately causes misunderstanding and disappointment to these customers. It is our belief that customer satisfaction is very important. This is why we have designed this Artwork Policy. Agreeing to this Artwork Policy means you acknowledge that you did read about the details of the services you are paying for.

Our Step by Step Procedures

  1. The customer must fill out our “On Line Form” or email us a sketch or drawing, so we can get a detailed description of the coat of arms you wish to have created.
  2. Once submitted, The Tree Maker will email the customer an estimate for the work listed in the “On Line Form” or from the picture the customer has emailed us. The estimate will contain a link to a secure webpage to place your order.
  3. Customer agrees to the price and places the order.
  4. The Tree Maker creates the artwork in an electronic format that we upload to our Preview Page so the customer can see the work.
  5. At this time the customer can make changes to the artwork by emailing us the changes they wish to make.
  6. The Tree Maker will make the first three changes to any one symbol or combination of symbols that total three, and do so for free. Additional changes beyond the first three changes will have an additional charge of $5.00 for each change. For these changes the customer must submit a request by email. Upon receipt of the requested changes The Tree Maker will email an estimate to the customer and a link to place order for the additional work. *More details below.
  7. Customer agrees to the price for the additional work beyond the free changes and places the new order.
  8. The Tree Maker makes these additional changes and uploads the new artwork to our Preview Page so the customer can see the work.
  9. This process of additional revisions/additional fee(s) continues until the customer is happy with the coat of arms design.
  10. Once customer is finished making changes, The Tree Maker will email the final version of the coat of arms. This can be in a .JPG or .EPS file format. There is no product included with the artwork. The order is solely for electronic artwork.  Additional products may be ordered incorporating your new custom artwork on any of our products listed on the website at www.thetreemaker.com.

Policy for Making Free Changes

Some customers have a misconception when we say “revision”, that it means you can make as many changes you want for free. This is not what "revision" means. It does mormally mean many changes to a drawing, but only the first three small changes to any one symbol or a combination of symbols will be free. Additional changes in the revision will be charged for at $5.00 each. We will determine at this time if the change you want is considered small.

Small changes would be considered:

  • Moving a symbol to a different area on the drawing.

  • Resizing a symbol larger or smaller.

  • Changing a symbol to a different color.

  • Adding a symbol that is already created {Exceptions to some Advanced Artwork apply}.

  • Changing the fonts or wording.

  • After the first 3 changes to any symbol are made there will be additional changes to the artwork that will incur a $5.00 charge for each additional small change made.

Large changes will likewise, as with the small changes, need to be emailed to us. These large changes will need to be supplied with estimates. The Tree Maker will determine when a change is considered a large change and will email customer with new estimate.

Important Information on Symbols and Changing Them

Some customers have the misconception that changing artwork is normally very easy. Sometimes it is but sometimes a small change such as making a symbol look up instead of down will take an hour to change.  However, another symbol may have been created in a manner that only takes 5 minutes to make it look up instead of down. We reserve the right to make the decision on what artwork is easy to change and what artwork is not easy as we have the expertise to understand how the artwork of any symbol was created and how long it will take to make the change. This is why some changes are not allowed to be considered a free change.

    Final Thoughts to Our Customers

In short the customer needs to understand the following: The customer is paying for the artists’ time and not the coat of arms/finished artwork. The coat of arms is a byproduct of our artists’ time and will be given to the customer by email when completed.

Our interpretation of your wording in the “Online Form” you have completed, or in any emails you send us, describing how you wish a coat of arms / logo to be put together will be final. Please keep in mind that we take great steps with our “Online Form” to ensure we have the best understanding of what the custom coat of arms should look like. However “We are not Mind Readers” and not able to fully understand another person’s mind view which can be conjecture on occasion. The Tree Maker’s interpretation of your wording will be final.

We do reserve the right to display the artwork we have created for customers on our website. This is solely for promotional purposes and we will not sell your design to any other person.

By checking the box at the bottom of the online form or typing "I Agree" in the ordering process, you openly agree that you fully understand our Artwork Policy and that basically we have full control over deciding how to interpret the “On Line Form” or emailed description you have provided. Also by accepting these terms you agree that our decision on any manner in creating the coat of arms is final.

Thank you for taking the time to read our Artwork Policy. Someone will email you with the estimate of the coat of arms you wish to have designed as soon as you hit the sumit button.
